What We Believe

Our official statement of faith is found in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. Below you can find a brief outline of our core beliefs—a summary of the Bible’s teaching—written by B.B. Warfield, a famed professor of theology at Princeton Theological Seminary (from Selected Shorter Writings of Benjamin B. Warfield, ed. John E. Meeter (Nutley, NJ: Presbyterian and Reformed, 1970), 1:407–10).

Going Deeper

We often say that our goal as a Reformed and evangelical church is to be Biblical, Confessional, and Presbyterian. Here’s what we mean by that:

Biblical:

  • We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the infallible Word of God.

  • The Bible is sufficient for our spiritual needs, clear to understand, and the final authority for how we ought to live in this life (2 Tim 3:16-17).

  • Above all, we believe that the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, points us to our gracious and merciful Savior Jesus Christ (Luke 24:27). The Bible is about Jesus!

Confessional:

  • We hold to the ancient creeds of the Christian church (like the Nicene and Apostles’ creeds) as accurate and faithful summaries of the teachings of Scripture (2 Thes 2:15).

  • As an Orthodox Presbyterian Church, we hold to the Reformed confessions, specifically the Westminster Standards.

  • Our creedal and confessional commitments unite us with all God’s people down through the ages and around the world (Jude 1:3).

Presbyterian:
